It Defies Logic
Like many, Brad Herman’s early life was not ideal. From the age of three, after his parents divorced, he was raised in a single parent home by his mom. He would see his dad every other weekend. But that usually meant spending time at the office while dad worked.
In grade school he was diagnosed with Dyslexia. His inability to keep up tagged him as a Special Need’s student. In Special Ed classes he was only one thin wall away from the kids that were considered retarded, a politically incorrect word today, but not back then.
Brad took another big hit when at fifteen his father unexpectedly died. Anger, worthlessness, and rejection filled his heart. He wanted nothing to do with God and despised Christians, tormenting them at every opportunity. After graduation, he could not think of a single reason why someone like him should be taking up space on the planet.
However, that is not the end of Brad’s story. You’ll be amazed at what he’s doing today, it defies logic. His story reminds me of something Lester Sumrall, a missionary and pastor who is with Jesus now, said to me. “How you begin in life is not nearly as important as how you finish.”
